Afraid of a Facelift? You Shouldn't Be!

before and after face lift

Interested in a facelift but nervous about the process? Keep reading to find out why you shouldn’t be afraid to have a facelift with board-certified facial cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Randy Sanovich!

Why are some people afraid to have a face-lift or neck-lift?

Most often, the patients that are hesitant to schedule a facelift have seen some bad results, but they haven’t noticed the successful procedures. When properly performed by a board-certified surgeon, these procedures should be difficult or nearly impossible to detect, due to embodying the most natural-looking results. Misconceptions about facelifts are abundant. Patients have heard adjectives like “frozen” and “plastic” to describe facelifts, but a good facial rejuvenation procedure should garner the quintessential response, “I couldn’t tell you had a face-lift!” from friends and family. The modern face-lift and neck-lift techniques are designed provide a dramatic improvement to an individual’s appearance without being obvious.  The results should be so natural that you simply look younger, slimmer, more athletic, and more attractive, but how you improved yourself should be virtually undetectable.

How is a facelift performed?

A “bad” facelift may make the patient’s face look too tight and very “plastic.” However, by tightening the muscle layer under the skin, our modern, multi-layer technique can smooth the neck, eliminate jowls, and lift the cheeks without looking artificial. We tighten the skin just enough to reduce the present wrinkles, and only make incisions that follow the shape of the patient’s ear to minimize obvious scarring. We can even perform a fat transfer procedure which allows Dr. Sanovich to inject some of your own fat to fill in any grooves and depressions in your face so you regain that “baby-face” appeal you once possessed at a younger age. Through these advanced techniques, the neck can be made to appear thinner, more athletic and subsequently make the face appear smoother, fuller and more youthful.
