We thank you for choosing Dallas Surgical Arts for your procedure. Below is a list of things to help make your recovery as smooth as possible, and to ensure efficient and optimal healing.
4 weeks prior
4 weeks prior to surgery, we offer a consultation with one of our Estheticians to properly prepare your skin for surgery.
2 weeks prior
You will have a pre-surgical appointment, where you will meet with the surgical team and doctor to review post op instructions and ways to prepare for surgery. We ask that you bring your caretaker with you to this appointment so he/she can be prepared on how to care for you after surgery.
At least two weeks before your surgery, we ask that you stop smoking, and do not resume until at least two weeks after surgery. Nicotine interferes with the healing process, so we need a minimum of four weeks commitment of no smoking.
We ask that you bring a list of medications that you take daily, including supplements, as some of them may need to be altered leading up to surgery or after your procedure.
If you have recent blood work from your primary care physician, we ask that you bring it with you to this pre-surgical appointment or have it faxed to our office.
1 week prior
Start the Arnica supplements that you were given at your pre-surgical appointment (if you were unable to come to our office and receive these supplements from us, they can be purchased at your local drugstore).
Pick up your prescriptions from your pharmacy. You will need these on the day of surgery.
night before surgery
Please have nothing to eat or drink, including water, for 8 hours prior to your procedure. Wash your face with the provided cleanser if needed. Please clean your pillow cases prior to coming home from surgery and be aware of animals in the bed, as they carry potential risk for infection.
morning of surgery
Arrival time will be noted on your appointment card and confirmed with you over the phone the day before surgery. Please bring prescriptions with you so we can go over them in person with you and your caretaker. Wear comfortable clothing, preferably a shirt that buttons or zips instead of one that pulls over the top of the head. This will make it easier to get dressed after surgery when you are ready to leave.
Please leave personal items at home, including make-up and jewelry. We will provide you with a locker for your personal belongings if needed.
illness
If you are feeling ill 24-48 hours prior to your surgery, please let our office know and we will determine if the surgery needs to be rescheduled. In the event that we need to reschedule, we will accommodate you with the soonest available spot on our calendar, keeping your safety as our top priority.
who should i call if i have questions?
Please call our office at (972) 914-3660. You may also email photos or questions to info@dsa.live and someone will get in touch with you within 24-48 hours.
